Bay Town Trolley Unveils Veterans Giveback Contest

Bus System to Award One Area Vet a Free Annual Pass

[Panama City, Fla.] – Representatives from Bay Town Trolley announced the launch of a contest to give back to a local veteran. The contest calls for area residents to nominate Bay County veterans online to win a one-year pass for the bus system. Nominations can be made at starting today. This initiative comes at a time when the system is finalizing service to the Panama City VA Outpatient Clinic set to open on Magnolia Beach Road in December.

“The service and sacrifice of veterans is truly humbling, and Bay Town Trolley is committed to serving those who have served our country,” said Panama City Commissioner Mike Nichols, Chairman of the Bay County Transportation Planning Organization. “This annual pass giveaway is a simple way for us to recognize a local veteran and is a small way we can say thank you to a local hero.”

Florida has the third-largest veteran population in the nation, and Bay County is home to more than 22,500 of them. Many of those veterans will receive services at the brand new outpatient clinic currently under construction. Bay Town Trolley will begin service to the new facility the same day the clinic opens.
